Currently it is the 40’s, the 60’s, the 50’s, present time, you name it. This artwork includes representation ranging from science documentaries to trending beauty videos where the viewer can perceive the evolution of makeup and what beauty may mean to people. Coming from visual experiences such as “Till death do us part” by Theo Eshetu, and Priscila the movie, Ashly explores the dynamic interplay between beauty standards and evolving notions of sensitivity and femininity, while at the same time presenting how these develop through time. Essentially, demonstrating different forms of art that depict variations in beauty, what beauty even means, and how it looks from one person to another.
